Sample tubes

The sample tube you need to collect and store a genetic sample depends on the type of sample you are collecting, like an ear punch or scat. You can get advice on which sample tubes to use from the lab that will be processing your genetic samples. Samples for genetic analysis are usually preserved in 90 to 100% analytical grade ethanol.
